building bridges young leaders program

The Building Bridges Young Leaders Program is a volunteer-based, community partnership outreach initiative designed to support youth and young adults’ between ages 8 and 18 and to deepen understanding of their leadership role in community health. It seeks to broaden their knowledge of social identity, humanity, culture, and community formation. It aims to inspire youth to become agents of social change by leading positive change for healthy communities in five focus areas:

  1. To create safe places for youth to learn, grow, and lead

  2. To develop opportunities for youth to help others

  3. To support effective education through community partnership

  4. To transform and mobilize communities through compassion and advocacy

  5. To empower youth to collaborate, problem  solve, and launch projects to improve community health
